Migration Topic Week – IZA, researchers, experts, Migrant Ethnicity Meeting

The "Migration Topic Week 2006" from May 13 - 21, 2006 is a newly initiated gathering of migration scholars at IZA, within the area of Migration activities and in conjunction with the IZA Annual Migration Meeting (AM²).The idea is to create a new forum of discussions on migration, to provide the opportunities to have useful interactions and engage in long discussions with both young scholars and seasoned researchers in migration, to have highly stimulating and provocative meetings, to brainstorm, and to converge to possible fruitful collaborations.

This forum is not confined to the constrained format of a conference or a workshop. We especially invite researchers who want to work together on migration projects during this week. We expect to have longer lectures from the participants and end the week with our Annual Migration Meeting (participants may also present or discuss papers at the AM²). All participants are expected to interface and have an active role during the week and at the AM².

To qualify for the Migration topic week researchers need to stay at IZA for at least 7 days. Longer stays are also possible. Moreover, for a successful Migration Topic Week we must have at least 10 participants and the Program Director present. We provide one dinner and a special event. IZA also pays for the hotel for the entire week and travel expenses according to our guidelines. Interested researchers should send a short proposal for admission approval to Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist gegen Spambots geschützt! Sie müssen JavaScript aktivieren, damit Sie sie sehen können. .

This year, the "Migration Topic Week" takes place at IZA on May 13-21, 2006. It is bookended by the 2nd Migrant Ethnicity Meeting (MEM) (May 14-16), in conjunction with a meeting of practitioners, and the 3rd Annual Migration Meeting (AM²) (May 20-21). Participants in the Migration topic week are expected to be involved in both meetings and serve as discussants to one or both meetings.
